I have one main site with smaller sites, so the 5 sites is a nice option and made a difference for me (better to have it all together than the others on Bluehost, and they do not take up many resources). The speed has improved both on the public site and my WP admin side. The biggest difference was with my admin side (thank you!!) because I had fine-tuned the public side about as much as I could without hiring a pro (I was a full-time webmaster years ago when things were more technical, and have migrated through the CMS phase to management on the publishing side to marketing/optimization specialist to now being my own client. Having effective easy-to-use technology allows that to happen, so I am basically my own agency. Choosing WPX was my way of forcing myself to spend time on content and engagement rather than the technology, which I enjoy but it does not generate revenue. As someone with some technical skills and ability to figure things out, I am happy so far (you may need to remind yourself that it is okay to back away and go with the flow if you are like me).
The support is the best I have come across, not just within web hosting companies (no comparison), but with all companies. Their support chat actually gets things done quickly, and the emails are addressed quickly.
I made this move because I am about to add a ton more content via a data feed and was concerned my prior host was not the best setup and it made sense to pay more to get more value. I am very happy and given the tuning I have done this past week, I think I will be a happy customer for a long time. I didn’t even know about WPX until this month and assumed I would end up on WP Engine or similar as I have used Studiopress/Genesis since 2010 (I think, along with Copyblogger, Brian Clark, Scribe, Authority, the conference).
